The TLX PMC Edition

Acura’s hush-hush factory out in Marysville, Ohio, named the Performance Manufacturing Center, is known for developing one and only vehicle, the NSX. Or I should say was known for, as Acura has developed and hand-built the all-new Acura TLX PMC Edition on-site at the Performance Manufacturing Center.

Part of an Acura initiative to better utilize the PMC factory, wherein Acura are looking to take a similar route to other manufacturers in developing exclusive and limited production models, the TLX PMC Edition is Acura first testing the waters for this program. Although mechanically, the TLX PMC Edition doesn’t seen any revolutionary changes or developments (which is how we know it’s a first test for designing limited run vehicles), the TLX PMC does include exclusive design features that make it a limited vehicle.

Most notably of all these exclusive features has to be the gorgeous red paint, known as Valencia Red Pearl; “the highest quality, most vibrant paint ever offered by Acura.” Utilizing nano-pigment technology, Acura has actually been able to design their paint to better catch the color and hues available in the red spectrum, creating an extremely deep red color only available for this vehicle and the NSX, at this time. This paint is so complex that it takes over 5 days to develop and paint the vehicle with it, all of which is done at the PMC factory.

Other exclusive features for this Acura TLX include a serial plaque mounted on the center console indicating which number the vehicle was in production for the limited run, in addition to a combo-package between the TLX Advance Package and A-Spec sport line, combining the best of both worlds for comfort and performance.
